RRB JE recruitment 2018-19: After an internal notice regarding recruitment over 14,059 Junior Engineer (JE) posts in the Indian Railways was leaked on the social media, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) officials had informed that RRB will release an advertisement inviting eligible candidates to apply for JE posts. The candidates have to keep the documents ready and start applying from January 2 onwards.

“RRB JE notification will be released on December 29 (Saturday). Candidates can apply online from January 2 to January 31, 2019”. According to the circular doing rounds on social media, 4,304 vacancies for the post of Senior Section Engineer (SSE), 162 vacancies for the post of CMD and 294 for the post of DMS will also be announced by the RRB.

RRB JE Computer Based Test (CBT) includes 150 objective type questions which are to be attempted in 120 minutes. Here is the distribution of questions and marks:

RRB JE Exam 2019 Eligibility                                                       

Nationality

  • The candidate should be an Indian Citizen.
  • He/she should have Aadhaar Card.

Educational Qualification

  • A candidate should have 3 years Engineering Diploma from a recognised University/institute in any one of the subjects – Mechanical/Production Engineering/Electrical/Electronics/Manufacturing/Tools & Die Making/Mechatronics/ Industrial/Machining/Automobile/Instrumentation & Control/Tools & Machining/Civil Engineering.
  • B.Sc. (three years) in Civil Engineering or a combination of any sub-stream of Civil engineering basic streams from a recognised University.

Age Limit

  • The applicant should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 25 years of age.
  • There is age-relaxation for Reserved Category candidates. Candidates can check the details in the official notification.

RRB JE recruitment 2018-19: Documents needed:

In order to apply, candidates would need scanned photograph and signature along with the certificates supporting education qualification. Aadhaar card, valid email id and working phone – whose number one will have to register with the RRB to apply will also be required.

RRB JE Exam 2019 Application Process:

How to Apply for RRB JE Exam 2018?

Candidates can apply for the RRB JE exam 2019 online only through the official websites of the RRBs. The application process will begin from 2nd January 2019 and will continue till 31st January 2019. Follow the steps provided below:

  • Go to the official website of Indian Railways – http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/.
  • Click on the ‘Recruitment’ tab on the home-page.
  • List of RRBs will appear on the screen, click on the one through which you want to apply.
  • You will be redirected to the official website of that RRB.
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ link for the JE 2018 exam.
  • The RRB JE Exam 2018 Application Form can be filled in the 2 stages – Stage 1 and Stage 2.
    • Stage 1 is Registration – Candidates are required to provide basic details like Name, Address, Email ID, and Phone Number.
  • Upon successful registration, login credentials will be sent to the candidate’s registered email id.
  • By entering the login credentials, candidates will be able to get access to the application form.
    • Stage 2 is filling the Application Form – They should fill it with all the correct details about their educational qualification, age, address, gender, category and other details.
  • Candidates should also upload the scanned copies of their Photograph and Signature.
  • They should also pay the Application Fee for the exam. Without application fee, no application form will be submitted.

RRB JE Exam Application Fee:

  • Unreserved category candidates should pay an application fee of  500.
  • Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in the application fee.

Mode of Payment:

  • The application fee can be paid either online or offline.
  • Through online mode, the application fee can be paid through internet banking, Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Rupay/ Visa/ Master Card.
  • Through offline mode, it can be paid via E-Challan method where cash is to be deposited at SBI and its associate bank branches.

Other Details:

RRB JE Exam Admit Card 2019

Candidates can download their Hall Ticket from the official websites of the respective RRBs. The admit cards are generally released 10 days prior to the commencement of the exam. Admit cards are to be downloaded through the online mode only. Please note that no admit card will be sent through the post. The admit card contains details such as candidate’s Name, Roll Number, examination date, venue, etc. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination centres for appearing in the exam.

RRB JE Exam 2019 Result:

RRB releases the JE exam result through the official websites of different RRBs. Candidates who have appeared in the examination can check the result through their log-in credentials. After the result is announced, qualified candidates are called for the document verification process. If any false information is identified during the DV process, the candidature is cancelled. The final selection of the shortlisted candidates is subject to qualifying the Medical Fitness Test.

RRB JE Exam 2019 Salary Range:

Salary of the Junior Engineer comes under the Pay Band – 2. As per Pay band 2, the basic salary ranges from 9300 to 34500 with grade pay of  4200. During the training period, candidates are entitled to basic pay plus DA. On completion of training, TA, DA, and HRA are added to the basic salary. Thus, a Junior Engineer in India Railway can expect a salary starting from ₹ 42000/-.

  • There is Objective Type Multiple Choice Question in the written paper of Junior Engineer (JE).
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Arithmetic & Technical Subjects are among the key topics added in RRB Junior Engineer Syllabus.
  • There 150 Questions in RRB JE Exam 2019 of 150 marks.
  • 90 Questions are asked from Technical Ability & General Science while 60 Questions are from General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning.
  • Time Duration for Written test is of 2 Hours.
